Attune Retreat Update: What's the Subtle Body All About?

In the upcoming Attune retreat we’ll spend 4 days and 7 sessions together exploring the profundity of our inner being through the practice of yoga. Beautiful setting, fresh food, good company, lots of yoga all sounds really good right, but what does that whole bit about inner being actually mean?

One of the oldest Sanskrit texts, the Rg Veda, maps the cosmos as a body. Over the centuries long development and refinement of yoga, of which each of us is now a part, yogis have explored how our bodies are also the cosmos. This is where form, our physical selves, and consciousness, interpenetrate. We call it the subtle body.

Yogic maps of the subtle body are diverse. They are both vertical and concentric, demonstrating how the elements of consciousness and life vibrate within us, as us.  We’ll be using these maps, in particular the chakras, and applying them through specific, progressive asana sequences along with pranayama, meditation and mantra, to journey within and without, up and down, all while we’re surrounded by the uplifting energies of nature.

It will be an illuminating and empowering process! And fun too! Join us!

P.S. And a special bonus: Zeyah Roge will be joining us to offer half hour and hour long massage at discounted rates to retreat participants.

Attune: A Summertime Yoga Retreat

Attune, a summertime yoga retreat with The People's Yoga at the Still Meadow Retreat Center, August 8-11th

To attune means to bring into harmonious or responsive relationship. On this four day yoga retreat we will immerse ourselves in the abiding pulsation of nature's rhythms. In the quiet of the old growth forest we will attune to the vitality, beauty, and regenerative power of nature to explore the way those rhythms exist within our own bodies and consciousness through asana practice, sound healing meditation and subtle body anatomy.

Along with our yoga sessions there will be time to meander through the woods, sweat it out in the sauna, nap in the meadow, or enjoy the creek.

Space is limited to 20.

I hope you will join me!
